POTTER, Gregg A. – of Birch Run, age 64, died peacefully at home with family by his side, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Funeral services will be held 1PM Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at North Flushing Baptist Church – 7500 N. Mt. Morris Rd. Pastor Joshua Corbin officiating. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Monday from 3PM until 8PM, and at the church on Tuesday from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to North Flushing Baptist Church, or to the family for future designation.
Gregg was born October 20, 1959, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Levi and Rita (Bertaso) Potter. He graduated from Kearsley High School with the class of 1978. Gregg married the love of his life, Mary Potter, on October 3, 1981, in Flint, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for each other. For over 25 years, Gregg worked as a forklift operator at Goodwill Industries. He was a member of North Flushing Baptist Church. Gregg enjoyed the simple things in life and found solace spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and bird watching. His extensive knowledge of various bird species and their distinct calls was truly remarkable. In his leisure time, Gregg delighted in his hobby of operating his model train. He was an avid supporter of the University of Michigan and the Detroit Lions football teams. A simple man with a heart of gold, Gregg was a true blessing to many, always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for his infectious smile that could light up a room. Above all, Gregg's greatest joy in life was his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he loved spending time with them creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Surviving are: Loving wife, Mary Potter; Son, Christopher (Celia) Potter; Daughter, Sara (Randall) Hascall; 4 grandchildren: Lily Potter, Mary Potter, Lucy Potter, and Christian Potter; Brother, Russell Potter; Sister, Carolyn Failing; Furry companion, Huckleberry; Many other loving family members and dear friends. Gregg was also preceded in death by: Granddaughter, Serenity Faith Potter; Mother-In-law, Loraine Hanshaw; Father-in-law, Charles Benoit and his dog, Molly.
