James Leman Carmack age 85 passed on December 8, 2020 at McLaren Hospital, Flint. James was preceded in death by wife Mary; brother, Robert Gerald; and sister Clemma Jean. He is survived by his children Robert and Carolyn; brother William (Lois) Carmack; sisters in law Carolee Carmack and Barbra (David) Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews. Special mention to Gary (Sue) Latchaw and Jean Kuch.
James was born on January 5, 1935 to Andrew Carmack and Gladys Firman in Flint Michigan. He served in the US Marine Corps until being honorably discharged in 1956. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1960 with a degree in Education. He taught for 35 years at Carman Ainsworth School District, retiring in 1995. He married Mary Kathryn Onufry on September 3, 1960. They were married for 50 years. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at McLaren Flint for taking such good care of our father during this difficult time.
