Nancy H. Ogle of Flushing, MI died peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Courtyard Manor in Swartz Creek, MI after a short illness. Cremation has taken place. Nancy was born on June 22, 1949, in Flint, MI to proud parents, William C. Ogle and Jayne E. Ogle. She ruled the roost in her folks’ home until her brother, the other William C. Ogle, was born in 1956. Nancy graduated from Flushing High School in 1967 where she met many lifelong friends. She worked for many years at different jobs throughout Genesee County and spent the last 15 years of her working career as an inside claims adjuster at Farm Bureau Insurance in Birch Run.
Nancy loved her family more than anything. She adored her parents and was always there for her brother and sister-in-law or her nieces and nephews to spoil them rotten or to provide them with encouragement. Nancy was also a fiercely loyal friend. She always tried to stay in touch with her friends and to give them support and a little humor along life’s bumpy journey. She was also a very devoted mom to her four rescue dachshunds. Nancy’s dogs hit the pet lottery when they arrived at her house getting the love and attention that they so badly needed. Anyone that knew Nancy was aware that she was an amazing storyteller. She was also very talented at just about any artistic thing she tried and was also a gifted gardener. She will be truly missed by all that knew her.
Surviving Nancy are her brother, Bill Ogle and his wife, Lisa Van Gilder of Ellsworth, MI; nieces and nephews, Erica (David) Sandusky of Morenci, MI, Michael (Samantha) Ogle of Williamsburg, MI, Lauren (Jacob) Heffner of Marietta, GA, Sally (Stan) Kelley, Skipper (Denise) Bryant and Suzanne Wimpy, all of Dahlonega, GA; several cousins; a number of great nieces & nephews; and many, many wonderful friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Jayne Ogle; her half-sister, Patricia Bryant; her nephew, Rickey Bryant; and her four beloved doxies, Gretchen Marie, Harley, Shadow and Jazz.
A Celebration of Nancy’s life will be held in the next few weeks. The date and place are still to be determined. There will be a posting on her Facebook page once the date and venue have been chosen. Memorial donations on behalf of Nancy can be made to the Dachshund Rescue of North America (www.drna.org) or the Whaley Children’s Center (www.whaleychildren.org). |
