Wofford, Gavin Augustine Nicholas, age 15, of Flint Township, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta will officiate. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday and 2-8 p.m. Monday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. A Rosary service will be 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the North End Soup Kitchen or Flushing Christian Outreach Center.
Gavin was born in Flint, Michigan on November 30, 2007, the son of Jeffrey and Alicia (Scheer). He attended St. Robert Catholic School and was currently a Freshman at Flushing High School. He enjoyed playing football, hanging out with his friends, playing video games, and loved all outdoor activities. Gavin was a great student, son and friend. He was smart, kind hearted, funny, and an overall joy to be around. Gavin was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church and formerly was active at Our Lady of Lebanon Catholic Church. He is a unique soul who we look forward to seeing again.
Gavin is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Alicia Wofford; siblings, Therese, Anthony, and Katie; maternal grandparents, Donald and Rhonda Scheer; many great-aunts and great-uncles, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ralph and Lorena Wofford. |
