Genny Rebecca Caldwell, 52, of Lapeer, died Saturday January 6, 2024. She was born August 27, 1971 in Flint to parents James and Georgina (Lawrence) Gilbert. Genny grew up in Gaines, later married James M. Caldwell on December 6, 2007 in Flint.
Genny was a horse groomer for many years, then loved working with her husband on their farm, Caldwell’s Crooked Creek Farm. She was also known to enjoy gardening and crafting. Outdoors, Genny loved stone hunting and camping. She was an enthusiastic fan of Kid Rock and John Stone. She will be missed.
Genny is survived by her husband: Jim Caldwell, daughters: Kimberly (John) Sweeney of Kalamazoo, Kelly (Mike) Bernardi of Sterling Heights as well as her mother & step-dad: Georgina & Forest Kallin, granddaughter: Emily Nolan, brothers: Donald (Jerri) Gilbert, David (Tammy) Gilbert, step-brothers: Michael (Angela) Kallin, David (Amy) Kallin as well as nephews: Nick, Doug and Alex. She was preceded in death by her father: James Gilbert.
Following Genny’s own wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. A memorial service will be 2:00pm Wednesday January 10, 2024 at Muir Brothers, officiated by Rev. Barbara Benjamin. The family will receive friends & family the hour prior, 1:00-2:00pm.
