Gary R. Martin, 77, passed unexpectedly January 6, 2021. He was born August 8, 1943 to Robert W. Martin and Mary F. (Gardner) Martin.
Gary served in the U.S. Navy. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandy Saunders, while serving and they eventually settled to raise their family in Corunna. They celebrated 58 years of marriage on May 12, 2020.
Gary retired from General Motors after 35 years of service and then devoted his time to his true passion of art. He loved gardening, feeding wild birds, building bird houses and feeders and working in his art studio.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister-in-law, Ruth Jennings. He is survived by his wife, Sandy, his daughters, Laura Hayes and Jessica (Dan) Trahey. Also surviving are his brothers, Danny (Rena) Martin and Michael (Mary) Martin, his sisters Patricia (Dewey) Lane and Donna (Barry) Worvie, sister in-law Janice (Butch) Duncan, and numerous nephews and nieces.
A private remembrance service was held at Swartz Funeral Home.
