MCGEE, Rita Marie- age 79, went to heaven to join her husband of 57 years on July 9, 2022, at McLaren Regional Medical Center surrounded by her four loving daughters and several grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 1PM Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Home Baptist Missionary Church- 8475 N. Saginaw Rd. The family will receive visitors at the church Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 11AM until 7PM and Thursday from 11AM until the time of service.
Rita was born June 1, 1943, in Fenton, Michigan, to Kenneth and Velma (Pyne) Craven. She grew up in Mt. Morris and lived there most of her life and was a member of Home Baptist Missionary Church in Mt. Morris where she worshipped with lifelong brothers and sisters in Christ. Rita married Mel McGee on December 26, 1963, and together they had four daughters, ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. The joy of Rita’s heart was taking care of others. She had a kind and generous nature who loved to help others. Rita enjoyed reading, watching game shows, listening to gospel music, eating comfort foods, and going up north with her family. Above all, Rita took pride in being a grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Rita is forever loved by her daughters: Renae (Lynn) Ciesielski, Robin (David) Hilley, Ronda Heinzerling, and Melody (Brett) May; Grandchildren: Megan (Dale) Ranney, Robert (Sarah) Hilley, Jacob (Racheal) Smith, Zackery Heinzerling, Joshua Hilley, Trevor May, Colton May, Chase Heinzerling, and Sydney Heinzerling; Great grandchildren: Mason, Brooklyn, and Reagan Ranney and William Smith; Sister, Barbara (Gordon) Bard; Brother, William (Rosalie) Craven; Lifelong friend, Dalberta McField. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Velma; Loving husband, Mel McGee; Granddaughter, Gabrielle Heinzerling; Brother, Kenneth Craven; Special sister-in-law, Debbie Craven. |
