ALTMAN, Henry B. – of Birch Run, age 82, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, March 26, 2021. The family will receive visitors at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 5PM until 8PM. Private Family Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021. Rev. Fr. Thomas McNamara officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Henry was born May 13, 1938 in Flint, Michigan to the late David and Ethel (Saxon) Altman. He graduated from Birch Run High School in 1957. Henry married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Sims on October 18, 1958. They celebrated 62 wonderful years together. He loved his job and friends that were made while working as a grain elevator operator in Birch Run for 47 years before retiring. Henry also loved serving his community and was a faithful servant of the Lord and member of Ss. Francis and Clare Catholic Parish and the Knights of Columbus Council #7233. He enjoyed bowling, spending time outdoors – gardening, working in his yard, cutting wood, and feeding his birds. Above all, Henry loved his family and instilled many wonderful moral values, and traditions they will always carry on.
Surviving are: Loving wife, Barbara Altman; Children: Shelly (Larry) Woodcock, Timothy Altman, Sheryl (Todd) Gentry, and Kenneth (Toni) Altman; 5 grandchildren: Jessica (Al) Altman-Lambert, Nathan Woodcock, Kayla Altman, Kyle Altman, and Madison Gentry; Great grandson, Timothy Allen Lambert; Siblings: Mary Altman-Wale, Dave (Sandy) Altman, and Nick (Debbie) Altman; Many other loving family members and dear friends. Henry was preceded in death by: Granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Woodcock; Sister, Louise Altman-Hicks; Brothers: John “Jack” Altman, and George Altman.
