Marlene Adele Pierce
Age 84 of Byron passed away Monday, October 23, 2023 peacefully at her home.
Funeral Services will be held 2pm, Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Nelson-House Funeral home with Pastor Marlene Webster officiating. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12pm until the time of service.
Marlene was the daughter of George A. and Mildred H. (Hite) Fortress. She was born in Howell, Michigan on March 6, 1939.
She graduated from Byron High School in 1957.
Marlene worked several jobs over the years, and as a Dispatcher for the State of Michigan for 18 years until she retired.
Marlene was a past member of the Shiawassee Humane Society and she enjoyed animals very much.
Marlene is survived by Husband Jack Lee Pierce, Sons: Jeffrey (Joanne), Troy, and Barry (Richard Kahn) Pierce; granddaughter Sydney Pierce Kahn; numerous step grandchildren; brother George (Laurie) Fortress, sister Carolyn (Tom) Mullaly.
Marlene was predeceased by her parents, sister Helen Crawford and brothers Devon Matthewson and Jim Matthewson.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Shiawassee Humane Society.
