Age 66, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Hurley Medical Center. Rosa Lee Finney, born June 3, 1958, to the late Sam Williams and Shirley Finney, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. A proud graduate of Southwestern High School, Rosa continued her education at Western Michigan University.
Her dedication and compassion led her to a fulfilling career at Hurley Medical Center, where she retired in 2014 after many years of service. Rosa's life was filled with joy and warmth. She loved shopping, spending quality time with her family, and cherishing peaceful moments at home. Her presence was a source of strength and comfort to those who knew her.
She leaves behind her beloved son, Nickelus Finney (Michelle), several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Rosa will also be dearly missed by her siblings, Arlene Grayer (Otis), Sam Finney, and Denita Finney; her aunts and uncles, Joan McCloud, Valeria Gilbert, Rosemary Porter (Joe), and Darnell Hopson; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as countless cousins, friends, and extended family who held her close to their hearts. Special friends, Edna Smalley, Cassandra Burks, the Howell Family and Robert Holland (Keith) were also significant in her life.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Sam; her sisters, Anita, Diane and Patricia; her brother, Clisson; her nieces, Tia and Samaria Finney; her nephews, Savion Finney and Trevelle Finney (Man); and other loved ones who welcomed her home with open arms. Rosa's legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all whowere fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. The family appreciates your prayers and support during this time of loss. In honor of Ms. Finney’s wishes, cremation has taken place. |
