DOLL, Harold, of Flint, age 92, died Friday, June 4, 2021 at Courtyard Manor. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at South Baptist Church, G-4091 Van Slyke Road, Rev. Scott Snyder and Rev. Dr. Adrian N. Doll co-officiating. Private interment will occur later at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
Harold was born in Muskegon, Michigan, November 28, 1928, the son of John and Winifred (DeVries) Doll. The family lived for a short time in Ravenna and then Ludington before returning to Muskegon where Harold graduated from Muskegon High School. He attended Muskegon Community College and graduated from Wisconsin Institute of Mortuary Science and then proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Harold was associated with the Balbirnie Mortuary in Muskegon before accepting a position with R.G. and G.R. Harris Funeral Homes in Detroit. He married Veronica Faulkner in 1959. Harold came to Flint as a partner in the Brown Funeral Home in 1964. After Brown Funeral Home was sold in 1988, he remained with the firm for a time and then joined the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home where he proudly continued to work every day until the 177th day of his 93rd year.
He was an active member of South Baptist Church, a past advisory board member of Baptist Bible College, a former board member of Family Service Agency, and was appointed by Michigan Governor John Engler to two terms as a member of the State Board of Examiners in Mortuary Science.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Veronica Doll; 2 sons, Rev. Dr. Adrian (Janel) Doll of Henderson, Nevada and Dr. Martin (Kattia) Doll of Huntington Beach, California; daughter, Susan Doll of Flint; grandchildren, David, Claira, Andrew, and Kelly; niece, Jan; nephews, Brent and Ken.
