ELMWOOD TOWNSHIP – Terrance Joseph Schaub, 74, of Elmwood Twp, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 at his home.
Terrance was born April 22, 1936 in Lake Leelanau the son of Lawrence Jr. and Della (Belanger) Schaub. As a young man he attended St. Mary’s School in Lake Leelanau.
Terrance was a talented mason who layed brick, block and stone. He was one of the masons who helped field stone on the Reef Petroleum/Lake States building.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and one of his true loves was his first corvette that he bought in 1981. Terrance was a great story teller he loved sharing tales with his family and many friends.
Terrance was a very kind, gentle and loving person.
Terrance is survived by his companion and care giver, Mary Houdek; two sons, Keith (Darby) Schaub, Lawrence (Barb) Schaub Jr., four siblings, Milford (Marie) Schaub, Marvin (Edith) Schaub, Marcella Kedzie, Sarah (Blaise) Korson; five grandchildren, Katie, Ben, Zack, Alexis, Shane and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Terrance Jr., a sister, Jane Rexroat; and a brother in law, Larry Kedzie.
Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 4 from 3 to 8 p.m. with the Rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m. at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay. The Mass will be held Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Lake Leelanau. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Fr. Michael Janowski will serve as celebrant.
