HAWLEY, Gayle Grace (Bird) – of Clio, age 83, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 11AM until 1PM. Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people are allowed in out chapel at one time and masks are required. Private family funeral services will be held to keep within the guidelines. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Gayle was born May 11, 1937 to the late Walter and Arlene (King) Bird. She worked at AC for 22 years and was a proud member of the UAW Local #651. Gayle loved gardening, quilting, reading, old westerns, antiques, and playing games with her friends and church family.
Gayle loved her Lord, her husband of 66 years, Pete, and the family they created, including their children: Terri (John) Dolan, Bill (Sandy) Hawley, Marcia (Keith) Hammonds, and Todd (Danielle) Hawley; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and one on the way; Brothers: Wally (Dolores) Bird, and Terry (Wanda) Bird. Gayle was also preceded in death by: Brother, Brent; In laws: Chub (Elizabeth) Hawley; Brother in law, Russ. She was well cared for in her final days by the staff at Taylor Lodge, and the family extends a special thank you to Tammy, Kerigan, and Jolene for al their love and care.
