Loretta A. Janca
Age 86, of Owosso, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025 at home.
There will be a visitation for the public at Nelson-House Funeral Home in Owosso on Tuesday, August 12 from 4-8pm, with a rosary at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Michael O’Brien, will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owosso on Wednesday, August 13 at 11 AM followed by a burial at St. Paul Cemetery.
Loretta was born on August 10, 1938 to Lawrence and Anna (Kondel) Horvath. Loretta was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She graduated from St. Paul High School in Owosso in 1956. Loretta was also a member of the Michigan Farm Bureau.
In 1958, Loretta married Joseph G. Janca; the two were married for 63 years. Loretta was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She enjoyed family gatherings with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Loretta enjoyed polka music dances, casinos, and spending time at Higgins Lake at the cottage she shared with her husband, Joe.
Loretta is survived by her children, Lynn (Ed) Vogl, Tom (Lori) Janca, Joe (Chris) Janca, and Mike Janca; grandchildren Lindsey (Brad) Robinson, Ashley (Josh) Lawrence, Courtney (Jerod) Koen, Alex Janca, Joe (Sara) Janca, Michael (Katrina) Janca, Brooke (Kate) Burman, Janae Janca, and Matthew Janca; and great-grandchildren Amelia, Graham, William, Eleanor, and Maggie Robinson, Jack and Luke Lawrence, Jonah Koen, Rowen and Kade Burman, and another great-grandchild, J.P. Janca, due next month.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; parents Lawrence and Anna; brothers John and Thomas Horvath; daughter-in-law Anne Janca and grandson James Janca.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church. |
