MATHESON, Irene H. (White) – of Davison, MI, age 91, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held 11:30 AM Friday, April 22, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Gary L. Beck officiating. A Committal Service will be held 2 PM Friday, April 22, 2022 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Thursday, April 21, 2022 and 10:30-11:30 AM Friday, April 22, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County, in Irene’s memory.
Irene was born in Side Lake, Minnesota on September 26, 1930, daughter of the late Clarence and Grace (Larsen) White. She married John Matheson in 1947 and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2010. Irene was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her cat, Nicki.
Irene is survived by her 5 children, Bonnie Hoffmeyer, Joy (Tom) Wallace, Sandra Matheson, David Matheson and Randy (Pattie) Matheson; 10 grandchildren, Chris (Miranda) Matheson, Tommy (Shelly) Wallace, Kevin (Jennifer) Wallace, Jennifer (Gabriel) Berlanga, April (Herb) Forcier, Jill (Josh) Johnson, Tammy Lindsey, Justin Matheson, Kristen Hendrickson and Chyanne Matheson; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; niece, Carol Bush; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Grace White; husband, John Matheson; brother, Gordon White and son-in-law, Cliff Hoffmeyer.
