Christine Hodgson, age 61, of Flushing, passed away due to complications with Multiple Sclerosis of which she battled for over 30 years, on Sunday, July 23, 2023. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, starting at 10AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 12PM at Sharp Funeral Home - Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Christine will be laid to rest at Flint Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Genesee County. She was born on June 28, 1962, to Shirley & Kenneth Hodgson in Flint, Michigan. She graduated from Westwood High School in the class of 1980. Christine continued her education at Kansas University where she earned her bachelor's in agriculture therapy. Christine kept herself busy with cross stitch and crochet, which she was very good at crafting with her hands. She loved going for car rides, shopping trips and trying new restaurants. Though her health made life difficult Christine was always ready to try something new.
Christine is survived by her mother, Shirley; her brother, Eric (Deirdre) Hodgson; her two nephews, Bradley and Dylan Hodgson; her aunt, Susan Wagner and uncle, Richard (Sheree) Beardslee. She is further survived by many dear cousins, other family members and friends too numerous to list but never forgotten. Christine was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Hodgson in 2020.
Christine's family would like to thank Dr. Swamy; her diligent and thoughtful care of Christine did not go unnoticed all these years. Her family would also like to thank the respiratory nurses of Genesys and the medical team of Select Hospital of Flint who have helped Christine and her family on this long and difficult road. Thank you for all that you have done, it is greatly appreciated.
