Aletha was born in Flint, Michigan on February 15, 1944, the daughter of the late Wayne and Letha (Multhaupt) Bolinger. She attended Kearsley and Bentley schools. Aletha was an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Church of God for 55 years. She had a heart for children, and began working as the kids’ church leader at Faith Tabernacle, then conducted kids’ crusades at local churches.
She met Patricia McAllister in 1968, and they began travelling as evangelists for many years. They carried the gospel message of Jesus Christ throughout the U.S. via kids’ crusades, camps, speaking engagements, and training seminars. They expanded their work to Trinidad, West Indies; Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, England, and Romania. They also served as couriers, taking Bibles, hymnals, and teaching materials into China – over 40 times. They were able to bless the people of Romania, as well, while their country was still under communism, by taking food, clothing, toiletries, and much-needed baby items to them.
Their ministry in Australia carried them throughout the eastern part of the country conducting children’s meetings – in churches, and in both private and public schools. They loved the country, considered the “land down under” as their second home, and made many, many friends there.
Aletha loved sharing the gospel, whether in church, or with individuals in restaurants or other settings. She wanted to win at least a million people to Christ.
She enjoyed travelling, and she and Pat made five round-the-world trips, visiting almost fifty countries. They also had the privilege of helping to tear down the Berlin Wall in early 1990!
She loved her family, meeting at restaurants with her friends and church family, fellowshipping with other minister friends; Gaither music, and listening to her favorite pastors and teachers.
She is already being missed by all of those who knew and loved her!
Surviving are siblings, Virgil (Cheryl) Bolinger,
David (Linda) Bolinger,
Debra (Neal) Kemmerline and Delmont Bolinger;
many nieces and nephews;
longtime friend and co-worker, Patricia McAllister.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Duane Bolinger; sisters, Carol Diechman, Janet Woodruff and Noreen Bolinger.
