Goethe, Rosalie E. of Flushing, age 98, died Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Oaks at Woodfield. Funeral service will be 12 noon Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at 12 noon. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Born in Fint, Michigan on October 2, 1925, Rosalie was the eldest of three children born to Joseph and Maude (Carson) Cowden. She married Alfred Goethe in August of 1955, and they were married for 62 years until he preceded her in death on March 11, 2018. Rosalie worked in the automotive industry cumulative with 29 years at the Flint Auto Auction. She had a love of travel and art during her whole life.
Rosalie is survived by her son, Greg (Susan) Goethe of Wake Forest, NC; daughter, Macia (Kevin Coutts) Flinn of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Jayne (Guillermo Vargas) of Cambridge, MA and Grant (Ashley) of Raleigh, NC.
