Irene H. Thick, age 81 of St. Johns, formerly of Bancroft, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 at her home. A visitation to celebrate Irene's life will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 11:00 am - 2:30 pm.
Irene was born on February 6, 1937 in Flint, Michigan to the late Lawrence and Leona (Whitney) Cobleigh. On January 4, 1957, Irene married Thomas Thick in Flint and together raised 4 children. Mr. Thick later passed in 2008.
Irene enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, puzzles, Sudoku, baking, gardening, playing bingo and listening to gospel music. But her greatest love was for her children and grandchildren and the time she had with them.
Mrs. Thick is survived by 2 children: Laura (Shannon) Norton and Matthew (Candy) Thick; 7 grandchildren: Derek, Danielle, Chance, Michelle, Hailey, Raime and Christian; 2 great grandsons: Gauge and Isaiah.
She was preceded in death by her parents: husband, Thomas Thick, Sr.; 3 sons: Thomas Thick, Jr., Eric Thick and Brian Thick.
