SHULTZ, Myrtle Jean (Cassel) – of Davison, MI, age 95, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Linda Graham officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-2 PM and 4-7 PM Tuesday, May 10, 2022 and 11 AM-12 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Flint Eastside Mission, in Jean’s memory.
Jean was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on July 30, 1926, daughter of the late Andrew and Harriet (Vosper) Cassel. She married Thomas W. Shultz on June 30, 1951 and he preceded her in death on March 21, 2006. Jean earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Jean enjoyed knitting, reading, sewing, needle point and was a volunteer for many organizations.
Jean is survived by her son, Thomas A. (Donna) Shultz; 5 grandchildren, Thomas A. Shultz II, Christina Munger, Kimberly Munger, Benjamin Munger and Carrie Munger; many great-grandchildren and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Harriet Cassel; husband, Thomas W. Shultz; daughter, Margaret Shultz-Munger and grandson, David Munger.
