Merton Bela Farr, age 101, of Flint, Michigan passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Merton was born one of twelve children to the late Bela and Ethel Farr on October 1, 1920, in Clio Michigan. Merton served in the United States Army from 1942-1945, serving as an Tech 4 Sergeant in WWll in Germany and France. During his tenure overseas, Merton earned Bronze Stars for Heroism.
Some of Merton's hobbies were fishing, traveling and working around the house. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 64. He was well known for being friendly and outgoing..... he never met a stranger. Merton loved his family and he will be dearly missed.
Merton leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Annette (Michael Light) Farr; grandsons,
Jack Rashead and Ansel Haley; and daughter-in-law, Kari Rasmussen-Haley.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverly J. Farr: and son, John J. Haley.
At this time, the family has chosen to remember Merton privately.
