ODEN, Robert (Bob) “Buddy”– Of Burton, age 84, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Advantage Living Center in Warren, Michigan.
A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00pm on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Visitation will take place from 1:00pm on Monday until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Bob was born in Cullman, Alabama on August 26, 1937, the son of
Richard and Laura (England) Oden. Mr. Oden retired in 1985 from Truck & Bus after 30 years of service. On June 5, 1992 he married Bonnie (Bradshaw) Kelly. Bob loved traveling with Bonnie, especially their trips to Florida and Arizona. He was an avid Detroit Tiger’s fan and liked Snoopy and Charlie Brown. Bob also enjoyed camping and fishing in his younger years. He could always lighten the mood with a good joke. Bob was a great man with a kind heart and everyone loved him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and he will be dearly missed.
Surviving are wife, Bonnie Kelly-Oden;
children, David Oden, Larry Oden and Debbie Proffer;
step-children, Bret Kelly and Rebecca (Adam) Banes;
grandchildren, Wesley, Nicholas, Lance, Kayla, Randy, Zachary (Katie), Riley, Avery, Meghan, Erin and Aidan;
2 great-grandchildren, Karlie and Hadley;
siblings, Richard Oden, Glenda Wix, Barbara (Larry) Melton and Thomas (Cindy) Oden;
brothers-in-law, Wayne Bradshaw and Garry (Sharon) Bradshaw;
and several nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Margie, Norma- Dean and Helen.
