James “Big Jim” Archie MacPhee, resident of Montrose, Michigan, age 80, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at his home. A graveside service with military honors will be 12:30 p.m., Friday, October 14, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd. Holly, Michigan 48442.
Jim was born July 26, 1942, in Detroit to the late Archie and Vera (Joseph) MacPhee. He married Marie Tippett (Racine) on August 20, 1983. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2019. Jim was a professional truck driver for many years. He enjoyed meeting and visiting with fellow truck drivers and friends at truck stops. He was a father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his family.
Surviving are his children, Harold MacPhee, Donna MacPhee, Leonard (Tracey) Tippett. Steven (Kimberly) Tippett; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; siblings, Judy (Bob) Ferguson, Harold (Carol) MacPhee, and David MacPhee; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepson Thomas (Nancy) Tippett. |
