COON, Dennis Gene – of Chesaning, died Saturday, March 5, 2022, at his residence. He was 72 years of age.
Dennis was born February 27, 1950, in Owosso to the late Robert and Sadie (Yarabeck) Coon and was a lifelong resident of the Chesaning area. He was a 1968 graduate of Chesaning Union High School. Mr. Coon retired from Buick City with over 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #599. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being with his grandchildren and was a big Elvis fan.
Surviving are: wife, Sandra Coon; sons: Jason (Jennifer) Coon, John Coon, Lucas (Natasha) Coon; daughter-in-law, Mona Cross, all of Chesaning; step daughter: Terra (Brad) Fite of Traverse City; grandchildren; Davey Michael Coon, Haley Karren Coon, Alyvia Nicole Cross, Ian Frederick Coon, Oan Dennis Coon, Jacoby Alexander Coon; great grandchild, Michael David Coon; sister, Diane Kulhanek; brother, Randy “Kris” Coon, both of Chesaning; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: mother of his sons, Cynthia Karren Cross in 2017; siblings: Carol Vrable, Gerald Coon, Tom Coon, Jim Coon and Marlene Streeter.
A Time to Celebrate his life will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 1-5 p.m. at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning. Contributions in his memory may be made to the family. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
