James Harley Hutchins II, age 80, of Davison, our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024. A funeral service will take place at 3:00 PM, Friday, January 3, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM until the time of service Friday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Swartz Creek VFW, Hammerberg Memorial Post 3720.

James was born on September 30, 1944 in Fenton the son of the late James and Julia (Rusinski) Hutchins. He graduated from Fenton High School, class of 1962. James proudly served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1968. He worked for GM as an electrician for 31 years until his retirement in 1995. James was a member of the Swartz Creek VFW, Hammerberg Memorial Post 3720. He was an avid golfer, bowler, pool shooter, and card player. James liked to travel with his friends and spent many summers growing up at Houghton Lake.

He is survived by his two loving sons, James (Erica) Hutchins III and Nathan (René) Hutchins; five grandchildren, Andrew Hutchins, Robby Hutchins, Nora Hutchins, Nick (Jen) Messenger and Thomas (Sarah) Messenger; great-grandchildren, Teddy and Penelope Messenger; and sister, Jerilynn (Ken) Crepeau.
