LaClair, Lydia J. – of Clio, age 95, died peacefully on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Medilodge of Montrose. Honoring her wishes, cremation will be taking place. Inurnment will be held in Great Lakes National Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Samaritan Fund at Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio.
Lydia was born August 20, 1926, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Jacob and Margaret (Schmidt) Schreiber. She married Norman K. LaClair in June of 1944. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2005. Lydia was a faithful member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. She was a fabulous cook and made amazing meals for her family. Lydia enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She was a wonderful mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are: Son, Raymond (Judy) LaClair; Daughters: Dianne (Joe) Meltia, and Tammy LaClair; Grandchildren: Colleen (Rob) Wesley, and Danni (Richard) Gaff; Great grandchildren: Josh Wesley, Kasey Wesley, Sydney Wesley, and Kadence Gaff; Many nieces, and nephews. Lydia was also preceded in death by several siblings. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Medilodge of Montrose and to her Messiah Lutheran Church family for all the love and care they had for Lydia.
