BEISSEL, Edward D. - Of Grand Blanc, age 77, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Road, Grand Blanc, with Pastor Bob Scott officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, January 6th at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint and also 10:00am on Saturday at church until the time of service.
Burial will take place at 1:30pm on Monday, January 9th at Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of the United States Army.
Edward was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin on December 30, 1945 the son of the late Edward C. and Marie (Brower) Beissel. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Ann Alberts, on October 25, 1969 in LaCrosse, WI. They recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Edward proudly served in the United States Army and continued his service in the Army Reserves. He retired from the Army Reserves in 2005 as a Lt. Colonel. Edward retired from Delphi as a Chemical Engineer in 2009. He and Barbara were members of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc.
Edward is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Beissel;
daughter, Maren (Donnie) Padget;
sons, Edward E. (April) Beissel and Brian Beissel;
grandchildren, Eric, Mackenzie, Cameron, Matthew, Addison and Ryan.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Edward C. and Marie Beissel and his brother, Jeff Beissel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
Edward will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
