Kenneth “Cotton” Dinnan, age 87, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, December 1st, 2025, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton. Visitation will take place from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Father Georges Bidzogo will officiate. Visitation 11:30am Monday until the time of service at the church.
Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
Kenneth (Cotton) Dinnan was born in Flint, Michigan, on March 31, 1938. He was united in marriage to Joanne Dinnan on May 26, 1978, and they shared 47 years together. Kenneth was very involved in the boxing community. He was the founder of Thread Creek Boxing Club and a former President for Eastern Michigan Golden Gloves. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. Kenneth was a journeyman roofer and a proud member of Roofing Union Local 149, for more than 40 years. He was known as a skilled steeplejack who painted many water towers and church steeples throughout the state.
He was a long-time coach of Threadcreek Boxing Club, training many amateur boxers for the Golden Glove competitions. Many will remember his wit, wisdom and humor known as “Cotton” Classic’s.
Surviving is his wife, Joanne; sons Victor (Leona), Timothy, Kevin, Kenneth James, stepchildren Robert (Julie), David (Brenda), John (Angela), Karen (Greg); Daughter in-laws Debra, Tina.
Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Surviving is brothers, Phil (Mary), Henry, and sister Norma (Darwin).
He was preceded in death by his stepsons Pat and Mike; grandsons Kenneth, Jacob, and Mitch; brothers Mike, Joe, Alfred, and Louie; and sister Isabel Talent.
Kenneth will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his passion for boxing, and his deep love for his family.
