SZUCH, Ernest – of Flint, age 95, passed away at home March 15, 2014. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Heritage United Church of Christ, 7074 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Jim James officiating. A Private Burial will take place in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. On Tuesday, visitation will be at the church from 10 AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to a Charity of the Donor’s choice.
Ernest was born in Ashtabula, OH on January 28, 1919, son of the late Manuel and Mary (Katocs) Szucs. He married Margarite Esterhai on November 20, 1948. Ernest enjoyed bowling with the Eastside Seniors, fishing, watching football, baseball and hockey. He was a member of Heritage United Church of Christ. Ernest retired from Buick in 1973.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Marge; son, Ernie (Annie) Jr.; daughter, Patricia (Ernie) Ahlstrom; pets, Blackjack and Kia; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Bert and Manuel; sister, Ethel Slezak. The family would like to say a special thank you to Matt Patterson, Genesys Hospice, especially Shenna.
