The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 11AM until 8PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run, and on Wednesday at Church from 10AM until the time of service. Maxine was not particularly fond of dressing up, so we ask that you please dress as comfortably as you prefer. Jeans are perfectly acceptable. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Bridgeport, MI.
Maxine was born on January 19, 1944, to Frances J. and Carmine Thibodeau. She was born in Hudson, MI and was raised on a farm in Pitsford, MI where she developed a love for chickens. She graduated from Elkhart University in 1963. She married her beloved husband, Howard (Skip), on April 6, 1979. They enjoyed their marriage for 45 wonderful years. After working as a laboratory technician at Flint Osteopathic Hospital, later Genesys Regional Medical Center, for 40+ years, Maxine retired and spent her winters at their home in Florida.
Maxine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed hobbies such as sewing, quilting, knitting, and beading jewelry. She enjoyed gardening as well as canning; a skill she was able to pass on to her girls before her passing. She frequently went for long bike rides with her cousins while in Florida. During her off season from being a “Snow Bird”, she often went camping during the summers with her family, where she enjoyed adventures, shopping, and antiquing with her girls. She was especially fond of spoiling her granddaughter and great granddaughter. She enjoyed doing puzzles and playing games, but you had to make sure she didn’t peek at your cards. She never actually cheated but it was fun to tease her about it. She attended Church at Faith Lutheran in Bridgeport and was a member of the “Faithful SewErs” sewing club. She also spent time volunteering at a local food pantry. Above all Maxine loved the Lord and her family and will be dearly missed.
Maxine is survived by her husband Howard (Skip). She is also survived by her daughter Teresa (Craig) Kime, granddaughter Amanda (Matthew) White, and great granddaughter Evelyn White. She is also survived by her sister Donna (Jesse) Bonnett, brother Gerald (Joann) Thibodeau, sister-in-law Juli (Bill) Lorenz, brother-in-law Loris Frounfelter, nieces Debbie, Lisa, Yvette, Angela, and Megan, and nephews Mark and Aaron, as well as her cousins and friend Betty Moggo. She was predeceased by her parents, mother and father-in- law, brother-in-law Jack, sister-in-law Charyl, niece Denise, friend Kathy Hall, and beloved dog Holly.
