GOODMAN, Elizabeth L. “Betty” – Of Flushing, age 85, died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at home.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Kevin Harbin and Pastor Wendy Orzel officiating.
Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Clio.
Visitation 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Elizabeth was born in Pigeon, Michigan on August 13, 1927, the daughter of Cassius and Theresa (Hernberger) Cady. She was a resident of Clio most of her life and resided in Flushing for the last 10 years.
On September 22, 1951 Betty married Edmund Goodman.
She was a member of Vienna Chapter #283 O.E.S. in Clio.
She enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing cards, gardening and was a Detroit Tiger fan.
Mrs. Goodman was employed by the old Fisher Body on South Saginaw Street and worked at Bronner's in Frankenmuth.
Surviving are husband, Edmund;
daughter, Theresa and husband Jerry Smithwick of Swartz Creek;
sister, Eleanor Streu of New Port Richey, Florida;
niece, Deborah Phipps of New Port Richey, Florida;
nephews, Roger Leland of Citrus Heights, California and Gary Blanchard of Ft. Pierce, FL;
good friends, Margaret Dyer and Theresa Sigourney; her cat, Bootsie.
She was preceded in death by sister, Pauline and brother-in-law, Clarence Leland; brother-in-law, Leon Streu; sister-in-law, Celeste Goodman; sister, Cleo Blanchard and brother-in-law, William Blanchard.
