PARKER, Joyce “June” - Of Swartz Creek, age 76, died Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Wellbridge of Grand Blanc.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Jim Nelson
officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation 11 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Joyce was born in Holcomb, Missouri on June 17, 1945, the daughter of the Edmun Hyless and Anna Mae (Baxter) Wasson.
June graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1963. Shortly thereafter she began working for the Social Security Administration retiring after 30 years of service. She had an affinity for volunteerism with the McLaren Women’s Auxiliary.
June was a dedicated member of church her entire life and freely gave of her time to serve god. Being a strong woman who survived cancer, she persevered becoming stronger in her faith. She lived for her family, especially her husband of 56 years, and enjoyed gathering with the Parker and Wasson families.
She married Danny Parker on April 24, 1965 in Flint.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek.
Surviving are husband, Danny;
son, Johnny (Kristi) Parker;
daughter, Denise (Trevor) Wilson;
grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Nathan, Owen, Cole, Drew and Luke;
3 great-grandchildren;
sisters, Shirley and Kay;
brothers, Don and Charlie.
