OAKS, Peggy Ladorse (Parker) – of Otisville, MI, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Peggy’s memory.
Peggy was born in Hayti, Missouri on August 3, 1939, daughter of the late Orba and Roma (Travis) Parker. She was a graduate of Flint Tech High School Class of 1957. On January 18, 1958, Peggy married Duane Oaks in Flint, MI. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership that spanned over 66 years. Peggy's warmth and generosity were evident in the kitchen, where she delighted in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. Her culinary creations not only nourished their bodies, but also filled their hearts with joy. One of Peggy's greatest joys in life was spending time with her family. She embraced the role of "Grandma" with open arms, taking care of kids who lovingly called her by that endearing name. Her nurturing spirit and kind-heartedness left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she cared for. Peggy's legacy lives on through the love and memories shared by her family and friends. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, the warmth she brought to every gathering, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Duane Oaks; 3 children, Greg Oaks, Jeffrey Scott (Jody) Oaks and Susan Beattie (Tyrone Minto); 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 2 nephews; 2 nieces; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orba and Roma Parker; 2 brothers, James Parker and Anderson Parker.
