DUNGEE, Deborah Ann – of Burton, age 61, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at home surrounded by her loved ones. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Alan Duce officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11 AM until the time of service on Friday.
Debbie was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Flint, Michigan on March 23, 1965, daughter of Robert and Ruth (Petitt) Lewis. Debbie met the love of her life, Scott Dungee, working at the Clio Convalescent Center in 1990. They quickly married in 1992 ready to start their life together. In 1995 they had their daughter, Amanda (Dungee) Klamert, who meant the world to her. Debbie worked all her life taking care of other people. She had many jobs which included CNA, hospice care, and finally a nursing assistant at a doctor's office. She continued to take care of people long after she stopped working. Debbie loved being outside in the sunshine, floating in her pool, and being with her family. She loved many cats over the years, but her favorite was Ruby Jane. Her grandchildren brought her so much joy and were her biggest blessing. Debbie will always be remembered for her love of animals, and the way she always took care of the wildlife in her backyard. We couldn’t have asked for a better mother, wife, and Grammy. We will miss Debbie every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Scott Dungee; daughter, Amanda (Nate) Klamert; grandchildren: Aubriella and Madisyn; mother, Ruth (Petitt) Lewis; sister, Sharron (Ronald) Swantek; nieces: Maria Swantek and Debbi (Eric) Burgett; great nieces and nephews: Lauryn, Colton, Isabel, Ben, and Bailey. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lewis; cousins: Leslie Petitt, Tim Lewis and Todd Lewis; uncles: Andrew Petitt, Wade Lewis, Charles Lewis, David Lewis, and David Bieszak.
