MOREAN-THOMAS, Lula “Lou” Mae (Marriner) – of Davison, MI, age 85, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022. Cremation has taken place. Lou will be laid to rest with her first husband, Calvin R. Morean, Sr., in Meadowview Cemetery followed by a private Memorial Service.
Lou was born in Portsmouth, VA on January 26, 1937, daughter of the late James and Lula (Culpepper) Marriner. She married Calvin R. Morean, Sr. in February 1951 and he preceded her in death in 1973. Lou was a gifted gospel singer, performing at church and on television in Virginia Beach, VA. She was also a talented baker and cake decorator.
Lou is survived by her son, Kenneth (Jeannie) Morean; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Shapiro; sister-in-law, Sunako Marriner; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lula Mae Marriner; first husband, Calvin R. Morean, Sr.; son, Calvin R. Morean, Jr.; 5 siblings, Fenton “Everett” Marriner, Mildred Butler, Louise Manning, Thelma Addington and Jimmy Marriner.
