MAPLE CITY – Bessie Jane Musil, 79, of Maple City, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010 at Munson Medical Center.
Bessie was born Feb. 10, 1931 in Glen Arbor Township the daughter of Archie and Manilla (Bumgardner) Plowman. On Dec. 18, 1954 in Empire she married Edward H. Musil who preceded her in death on April 12, 2005.
Bessie loved her farm in the Bohemian Valley of Leelanau County. She was a woman of all seasons who loved all the wild animals that were on her farm. She enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and went every year.
She was the Cleveland Township Treasurer for more than 45 years. Bessie always had time for her friends, who could stop by her home anytime to visit.
Bessie is survived by a brother, Gordon Plowman and several loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Winona, Sarah, Tina, Donna; and two brothers, Ned and Gale.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Maple City. The Rev. Lucy Schaub will officiate.
Memorials may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
