HENDERSON, Marilyn – of Alpena, formerly of Flint and Lapeer, age 92, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025, at Turning Brook Assisted Living in Alpena, MI. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Twin Cities Baptist Church, 5339 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, MI 48507; Pastor Mike Cheng officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will welcome visitors from 10 AM until the time of the service on Friday at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Twin Cities Baptist Church, in Marilyn’s memory.
Marilyn was born in Flint, Michigan on November 1, 1932, daughter of the late Alvin and Grace (Klann) Melancon. She married James Henderson on March 7, 1953, and together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on September 20, 2012.
Marilyn is survived by her loving children, Barry (Teresa) Henderson, Melanie Henderson and Ginger (Randy) Porter; grandchildren: Galen (Heather) McComb, Joshua Henderson, Melissa (Matt) Denisar, Tonya (Mike) LaNasa, David Porter, Stephanie Quinn, Benjamin (Carrie) Porter, Adam Porter, Randy Porter, and Katie Baughman; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by children: James Henderson II, April Henderson, and Bethany Quinn.
