KIRBY, Betty Lois – Of Gladwin, age 83, was called home Friday, May 6, 2022 at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Central Baptist Church, 2211 North Center Road, Flint, Pastor Steve Curtis officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Central Baptist Church.
Visitation 10:30 a.m. Thursday at church until the time of the service.
Betty was born in Turkey Creek, Louisiana on December 13, 1938, the daughter of the late John Henry Schuyler and Carolyn (Deville) Ford.
Betty was a faithful woman, who loved the Lord, her family church and community.
Our mother was a perfect example of a Godly woman. She lived a life fully devoted to the Lord, and we know she is receiving her reward, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords have welcomed her with open arms and given her the keys to her Heavenly mansion.
Betty faithfully and joyfully served in many capacities in her church, such as singing in the choir, Sunday School and witnessing.
She also enjoyed the nature of the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, being with family.
Mrs. Kirby was employed by GM V-8 Engine Plant.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Angela Skerjance and Wendy (Timothy) Webb;
8 grandchildren, Mitchell (Summer) Sprouse, Jamie (Erik) Vallance,
Jennifer Sprouse, Amecka Skerjance, Jessica Sprouse, Andria Skerjance, Arisen Skerjance and Aden Skerjance;
many great and great-great-grandchildren;
1 great-great-great-granddaughter;
3 brothers, Terry Ford, Preston Melton Ford and Tony (Mary) Ford;
2 sisters, Kathy Joyner and Linda Mellenting;
special friends, Betty and Margaret.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Earl Sprouse; second husband, William Kirby; 2 sons, James Marcell Sprouse and Barry Allen Sprouse; brothers, Kenneth Morris Ford and John Larry Ford.
