LEIGHTON, Beverly – of Flint, MI, age 74, passed away on March 30, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held 11AM Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 5073 Daly Blvd. Flint, MI 48506; Pastor Gary Beck officiating. Interment will take place at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Monday, April 4, 2022, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd. Davison, MI 48423. Visitation will continue at 10 AM Tuesday, April 5, 2022, until the time of service at St. Mark Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Beverly’s memory.
Beverly was born in Grayling, MI on June 27, 1947, daughter of the late Lyle and Helen (Newell) Johnson. She married Bernard Leighton on June 8, 1968. Beverly graduated from Grayling High School in 1965. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Central Michigan University as well as an accounting degree at Baker College. Beverly was an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, serving on several church committees. Beverly was dedicated to her friends and family, and especially cherished her grandchildren.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Bernard Leighton; children, Barry (Ann) Leighton and Bethany (Michael) Hawkins; grandchildren, Aidin, Jake and Luke; sister, Marjorie Kehr; many other loving family and friends.
