Patricia A. Sabo-Yanta (Luna), age 60, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Flint, Michigan on August 22, 1964, Patricia "Pat" was the daughter of Gregorio II “Sisto” and Angelita (Bustos) Luna. She graduated from Clio High School in 1982 and spent many years working as a dental assistant at Today’s Dental Comfort in Burton, Michigan.
Pat married Gregory Sabo in June 1989, and their daughter Courtney Benita-Marie was born in 1992. In 2010 she married Charles V. Yanta, and together they shared 25 wonderful years of love, laughter, and friendly competition. Pat held her own at bowling and golf—often beating Chuck and holding the highest bowling score, which she jokingly considered her greatest victory.
Mornings were sacred to Pat: coffee in hand, a warm cinnamon roll, a game of cribbage with Chuck, and watching wildlife in their new home. These became the quiet highlights of their days and brought her great joy.
Pat’s heart and soul—her daughter Courtney—was engaged in April. She embraced Courtney’s wedding plans with excitement and welcomed Kevin Nutter as her future son-in-law, comforted knowing her daughter was happy and loved.
Even in death, Pat gave life—donating organs and tissue to others. Her legacy continues through those she helped heal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio Luna II "Sisto", Angelita and Gene "Joe" Zalud, and her brothers Gregorio Luna III and Danny Luna.
Patricia is survived by her husband Charles; daughter Courtney (and fiancé Kevin); and siblings Frank (Cheryl), Dave, Mary (Rick) Hyde, Mike (Linda), and Randy (Paula) Zalud.
Her bright smile, infectious laugh, and generous spirit will be deeply missed.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hurley Hospital 4E ICU for their compassionate care, and to Gift of Life for honoring Patricia’s wish to help others.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 14th, 11:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Flint, MI. Visitation from 10:00-11:00am. Luncheon will be served afterward.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patricia’s name to the family.
