The faithful, woman of God, Jean Mae Locke, age 89, of Davison, was called home to be with Jesus, August 29, 2023.
Jean lived a life dedicated to her Christian faith and serving the Lord. Jean’s compassionate heart was selfless and generous. She spent all her years caring for the people she loved. Her deep, unshaken faith sat at the core of who she was. She was a woman who heard the voice of God and experienced miracles.
Jean had a beautiful smile, laugh, and rockin’ fashion style. She was born in Alpena, MI, September 18, 1933, daughter of Walter and Viola (Kinsel) Sharpe. Jean married Eugene Locke, January 15, 1955 and raised five children.
Over the years she lost three of her children: David, Bryon and Brenda, and her husband, Eugene. But by the grace of God, she endured.
God’s Word tells us that when Jean entered the gates of Heaven, she received the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him. (James 1:12) As Jean would always say in her last days, “I fought the fight, and I won!” (2 Timothy 4:7).
Jean is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Hayden and Connie (Otis) Wiggins; 32 grandchildren, including great and great, great-grandchildren; her spunky dog, Nikki; and many other loving family members and friends.
Cremation has taken place. A private service will be scheduled. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Jean’s memory.
