Mary Ellen Wendling
Age 78, of Maple Grove Township, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at McGeehan Funeral Homes, Martin Chapel on Friday, January 28th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will also be held 10:00am Saturday at church until the time of the Mass.
Mary was born in Owosso, Michigan on March 31, 1943 the daughter of Theodore and Ellen (Flynn) Yaklin. On August 24, 1963 she married the love of her life George R. Wendling and they were married almost 45 years until he preceded her in death in 2008. Mary was a lifelong and faithful member at St. Michael Catholic Church in Maple Grove. She was a loving wife and dedicated her life to raising her 3 son’s. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Karlee. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting, shopping and dancing.
Mary is survived by her son’s, Wayne Wendling, Dan Wendling and Jim (Kathy) Wendling; 1 very dear granddaughter, Karlee (Jason) Walker; step-granddaughter, Mindy (Josh) Wells; 3 great-grandchildren, Adalee, Delaney and Waylon Wells; brothers, Thomas (Andrea) Yaklin and Michael Yaklin and sister, Elaine (Ron) Krupp.
She is predeceased by her parents, Ted and Ellen Yaklin, sister, Rosemary Yaklin and brother, Jim (Joan) Yaklin.
