ALLEN, Mark R. Jr., – of Clio, age 81, gained his wings and went peacefully with his Lord on Friday, May 7, 2021. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church – 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Morris. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Monday from 1PM until 8PM, and at the church on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. A Knights of Columbus service will be held at 7PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus or SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church. Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people are allowed in our chapel at one time and masks are required.

Mark was born September 3, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to the late Mark and Margaret (Lowell) Allen, Sr. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Mt. Morris in 1958 and later attended Flint Junior College and the University of Dayton in Ohio. Mark married JoAnn M. Alward on December 26, 1970. Mr. Allen retired from Buick in 2012 with 50 years of service. He was a member of SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church where he served as an usher, and with the Knights of Columbus. Mark enjoyed working on cars, was a Notre Dame fan, and loved his cat, Tsue. Above all, Mark loved spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.

Surviving are: Loving wife, JoAnn Allen; Children: Matthew (Michelle) Allen, Mark R. (Deborah) Allen, Jeannette Allen (Dave Zigila), Steve (Melissa) Allen, and Stephanie (Kevin) Thomas; Grandchildren: Dain Garber, Jesse Thomas, Ashleigh Allen, Autumn Allen, Leah Allen, Lauryn Thomas, Alex Allen, and Charlie Clare Allen; Brother: Greg (Gail) Allen; Sister, Paula (Kerry) Serven; Sister in law, Carol Allen. Mark was also preceded in death by his brother, Jim Allen. The family would like to extend an incredibly special thank you to All Americans Hospice - especially Nurse, Scott Townsend, and CNA, Katrina Seely, and to the Lund Home – Hospice of the Valley in Gilbert, Arizona for all their wonderful love and care.
