TIPTON, William A. – of Montrose, age 83, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at McLaren Regional Medical Center of Flint. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Montrose Family Worship Center - 9453 Vienna Rd., in Montrose. Pastor Bob Leming officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 4PM until 8PM and Saturday from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Montrose Family Worship Center.
William was born September 21, 1936 in Unicoi County, Tennessee to the late Albert and Amanda (Buchanan) Tipton. He married Betty Ferguson on July 3, 1970 in Flint. William retired from General Motors – Flint Truck and Bus with 31 years of service. He had a strong faith and love for his Lord and was a member of Montrose Family Worship Center. William was a fan of all sports, especially football and baseball and always rooted for the University of Tennessee. He had a fun sense of humor, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, racecars, dancing, and a good game of pool. William always put others before himself and was the champion of the underdogs, helping people in need was one of his selfless passions. Above all, William always put his family first and was the most wonderful and loving husband, and father. He loved spending time with wife, children, and grandchildren.
Surviving are: Wife, Betty Tipton; Son, Danny Ray (Jacquie) Tipton; Daughter, Crystal Beth (Joe) Morse; Grandchildren: Ashley Tipton, Danielle Tipton, Mitchell Morse, Dominique Tipton, Abigail Morse, Lily Morse, and Ethan Morse; Great grandson, Gage Tipton; Brothers: Bob Tipton, Bill (Sarah) Tipton, Jerry (Sharley) Tipton, and Roger (Cindy) Tipton; Many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.
