Richard J. Taylor
Age 86 of Owosso passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Covenant Healthcare.
Funeral services will be held 6pm Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Fields officiating. Burial will take place at Ithaca City Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4pm to 6pm.
Richard was born July 7, 1936 in St. Johns, the son of Zelan and Ethel (Knickerbocker) Taylor.
He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Richard had a passion for tractors and enjoyed fixing just about anything from small appliances to automobiles. He was a worker but still loved to dress up. He looked forward to coffee time, having a snack and talking. God and church was Richard's focus. He loved his family; especially his grandchildren.
He married Phyllis Ebright in Rossville, Georgia on December 16, 1955.
Richard retired after many years working in appliance sales and service.
Richard is survived by his wife Phyllis of more than 66 years; children Debbie (Rick) Hebert, Cindy (Lind) Miller and Matthew Taylor; grandchildren Corlisa Taylor, Christopher and Caleb Miller, Jillian Hundey, Logan, MacKenzie and Rebecca Taylor; son-in-law Kevin Mepham; other loving family and friends.
He was predeceased by his daughter Lori Mepham, parents and sisters Reva Eckebocker and Neva Redeer.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
