Jim was born February 20, 1956, to James Kenneth Foulds and Sophia Katsarelas Foulds, in Saginaw, Michigan. Jim always sought to work hard and aim for excellence. At Fuerbringer Elementary School, he served as a Safety Patrol Boy, and was named Captain. At Douglas MacArthur High School he swam on the boys’ swim team, graduated in the Top 20 of his class and was nominated to attend Michigan State University Boys’ State where he was voted Governor. Jim was actively involved in Boy Scouts and followed his father’s footsteps to earn the Eagle Scout rank. Jim graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Accounting and then became a Certified Public Accountant. He worked with his father as a CPA at Foulds and Company in Saginaw. His passion for working with business ventures led him to running a Little Caesars Pizza chain in Clearwater, Florida, and serving as CEO of Johnson Carbide in Saginaw. He also served as a professor of Entrepreneurial Studies at Central Michigan University. He was very proud to share his business expertise with students at his Alma Mater. He loved water sports, especially boating, and took part in several Port Huron to Mackinaw sailboat races with his brother. He loved the water activities at the Fulton family cabin on Cedar Lake and loved the peaceful times he spent there with loved ones. Jim also loved playing the guitar and writing his own songs. He serenaded his wife at their wedding, and he delighted his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren with personal songs.
In addition to his beloved wife Katie, Jim is survived by his sons Jason Foulds (Brooke) and Aaron Fulton (Kayla); his grandchildren Jaden and Josie Foulds, and Max and Abbie Fulton; his brother Steven Foulds, his sister Sharon Foulds McCarthy; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Norman “Bump” and Carolyn Fulton; his brother-in-law Matt Fulton (Dawn); his sisters-in-law Beth Fulton and Peggy Arnes; and many special nieces and nephews.
