On Wednesday, February 16, 2022, Loraine A. (Lewis) Person, age 80, of Flushing, Michigan went home to be with our Lord after a courageous battle with ALS.
Loraine was born in Flushing, Michigan. She graduated from Flushing Senior High School in 1959. She continued her education becoming an LPN at McLaren Hospital where she met her future husband, Edwin, whom she married in 1966. Her passion in life was to be a good wife and mother and then an even better grandmother. After many years, she returned to nursing as a 3rd Shift Nursing Supervisor at Fostrian Manor in Flushing from where she retired after 20 years of service and dedication. Her immediate and extended family were her greatest sources of happiness and her 8 grandchildren her crowning glory - she leaves lasting impressions, traditions, and great memories with each of them.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin, of 55 years; three children, Kevin (Melisa) Person, Scott (Kristy) Person, and Susan (Jeff) Warner; and 8 grandchildren: Ross, Katie, William, Cade, Megan, Elizabeth, Emily, and Jacob. Also survived by 2 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law: Curtis (RoseAnn) Lewis, Ronald Lewis, and Marcia Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents (Beryl & Virginia (Blight) Lewis) and 1 brother (Roy Lewis).
Loraine was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Flushing. In her later years, she regularly attended First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc. A funeral celebrating her life will be held at Rossell Funeral Home, 307 E Main St. Flushing, Michigan at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2022 with Rev. Raleigh F. Adams officiating. Visitation will take place on 2-7 p.m. Saturday, February 19 and from 2-3 p.m. the day of the funeral. Interment to take place 11 a.m. Monday at Bendle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc or ALS of Michigan. |
