LEMON, Joan – of Burton, age 97, passed away on January 22, 2025. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor James Goff officiating. The family will welcome visitors from 12 PM until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Bible Church of Burton, in Joan’s memory.
Joan was born in Flint, MI on October 17, 1927, daughter of the late Garner and Lela (Cohoon) Gates. She married Clarence Lemon on July 3, 1948 and he preceded her in death on July 6, 2007. Joan was a teacher at Frank J. Manley Elementary School in Flint and retired after many years of service. She was a long-time member of Grace Bible Church of Burton. Joan had a passion for gardening. Later in life, Clarence and Joan enjoyed many trips on their motorcycles, growing fond of Harley-Davidson.
Joan is survived by her children, Jerry (Linda) Lemon, David (Lana) Lemon, Dennis (Sue) Lemon and Tom (Cindy) Lemon; grandchildren, Heather (Ryan), Zachary (Shannon), Gabriel (Haley), Tristan (Amy), Jon (Elizabeth), Matt, Bethany, Jimmy (Skylar), and Julie (Max); 7 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
