Nelson Kenneth Watchpocket, age 14 of Mt. Morris, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. He was born on September 7, 2009 in Royal Oak to parents Kristopher and Shellie (Kennedy) Watchpocket. Nelson was a happy teenage boy who loved to play football, basketball, and video games. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and especially his brothers. His ambition in life was to finish school, join the military, and become a police officer. Nelson will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and for always having a smile on his face. He wanted people to be happy and his catchphrase was, “I hope you have a really good day!” Nelson’s legacy of kindness and generosity will live on through his donation of life-saving organs to several recipients. Nelson is survived by his loving parents, Kristopher and Shellie Watchpocket; siblings: Hendrix “Ozzie”, Jordan, Anthony, Peyton, and Lucas; grandparents: Donna (Norman) Watchpocket and Kandi (Tony Perez) Sherman; great-grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by grandfather, Jeff Kennedy.
A funeral service will take place at 5pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD. Pastor Kirk Abatelli officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 4-8pm and again on Wednesday, from 3-5pm. Those desiring may make a donation to the family’s GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses. |
