CROOKS, Marvin K. – of Clio, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the age of 85. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Friday, November 13, 2020 at SS Charles and Helena Catholic Church – 230 E. Vienna St. in Clio. Rev Fr. Gerald Ploof officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park with full Military Honors. The family will receive visitors at the church parish center on Thursday from 5PM until 9PM, and on Friday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. A scripture service will be held at 7PM Thursday evening in the church parish center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center in Flint or the Charity of one’s choice.
Marvin was born June 9, 1935 in Millersburg, Michigan to the late Glenn and Katherine (Sahm) Crooks. He lived in Flint and graduated from Flint Tech High School in 1954. Marvin served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 until 1959. He married the love of his life, Patricia Ryan on August 13, 1960 at SS Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Marvin retired from AC Spark Plug – Dort Hwy as a pipefitter with over 38 years of service before retiring in 1994. He was a member of the UAW local #651 and past president of the Ushers Club at SS Charles and Helena Catholic Church. Marvin loved gardening, hunting, and spending time at the family homestead in Onaway, Michigan.
Surviving are: Wife, Patricia Crooks of Clio; Daughters: Kathy (Jerry) Fogelsonger of Jacksonville, Florida; Maggie (Kevin) Gregory of Vassar, Angela Crooks of Clio; Son, Marvin (Debbie) Crooks II of Vassar; Grandchildren: Jaclyn, Jessica (Adam), Justin (Laura), Joshua (Hannah), Jamie, Tim, Sarah, and David; Great grandchildren: Hailey, Hunter, Hayden, and Henry; Brother, Gary (Peggy) Crooks of Oklahoma; Many nieces, nephews and special friends.
